24-year old Jacob McClain Killed in Lewis County WV Logging Accident

24-year old Jacob McClain was killed in a logging accident in Lewis County, West Virginia, when a large tree the company was cutting fell in an unexpected direction and landed on top of him.

McClain was on a job site in Lewis County, West Virginia working for the Big Run Timber Company when the accident which is currently under investigation by The Occupational and Safety Hazard Association, OSHA occurred.

According to the news website, The Exponent Telegram, Lewis County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Moneypenny said McClain was believed to have died at the scene at the time of the accident around 3:00 pm.

“Lewis County EMS, Jane Lew Volunteer Fire Department and West Virginia State Police also responded.” Moneypenny said.
